The Quran, Islam\u2019s sacred book, extensively covers the story of Jesus\u2019 life and mission. It confers many honorable titles on him such as the \u201cSpirit of God\u201d, \u201cWord of God\u201d, and \u201cMessenger of God\u201d. It is precisely due to Quran\u2019s characterization of Jesus as the \u201cWord\u201d of God that Muslims became fascinated with the sayings of Jesus. He also became an inspiration to generations of Muslim mystics, such as Rumi, Hafez and Ibne Arabi. In fact, Jesus plays a significant role in Islamic Sufism.
